How much does a cleaner cost in Hackney?
A regular cleaner in Hackney costs £17 per hour on a weekly or fortnightly plan, or £19 per hour for monthly visits and one-off cleans. In a flat share, splitting the hourly cost between housemates keeps it modest per person. We confirm the slot and the price before the first visit, and you pay for the hours booked.

Local knowledge
Fitting a cleaner into Hackney life
Hackney households take many forms: house shares in converted terraces, families near London Fields and Clissold Park, people in flats on the borough's estates, and newcomers in blocks such as those at Woodberry Down. A regular clean has to work for each of them, which is why it is booked by the hour rather than sold as a fixed package.
Getting around shapes the routine too. Most of Hackney has no Tube station, so many residents rely on the Overground and buses, and the journey home eats into the evening. Stations such as Dalston Junction, Hackney Central and Homerton carry much of the borough's commute. A weekly or fortnightly visit during the working day means the bathroom and kitchen are done before you get back, and the weekend stays free for the park or Broadway Market.
In a flat share, a regular cleaner also settles the rota argument. The visit covers the shared kitchen, bathroom and living room, and each housemate looks after their own room. Agreeing the split of the bill up front keeps it fair. We work across the whole borough and most often in N1, which takes in Hoxton and De Beauvoir Town.

Hackney properties and what we focus on
House shares in converted terraces
In a shared Victorian house, the kitchen and bathroom get the heaviest use and nobody quite owns the job. A regular visit concentrates on those rooms, the hall and the stairs, and empties the bins, while each tenant's bedroom is left alone unless you ask.
Family homes near the parks
Families near London Fields, Clissold Park and Hackney Downs bring the park home: mud on hall floors, sand in shoes and sticky kitchen tables. A weekly visit keeps up with the floors, the kitchen and the bathrooms, and resets the living room and bedrooms each time.
Estate flats
Council and housing association flats make up a large part of Hackney's homes, from post-war blocks to the 1971 De Beauvoir Estate. In these flats, a fortnightly visit is often enough to keep the kitchen, bathroom, floors and balcony door in good order for a working household.

Tips for your home cleaning in Hackney
- In a flat share, agree before the first visit which rooms are covered and how the cost is split. A shared note on the fridge avoids awkward conversations later.
- If you work from home in a small flat, pick a visit time that clashes least with your calls. A cleaner working in another room is fine, but vacuuming beside a video call is not.
- Before a family visit, ask the children to put toys in a box so the floors can be cleaned properly in the time booked. Paid hours go further when the cleaner is cleaning, not tidying.

FAQ
Home Cleaning in Hackney: questions
Is a fortnightly cleaner enough for a Hackney flat share?
For three or four sharers in a converted terrace, a fortnightly visit usually keeps the kitchen and bathroom under control, as long as everyone washes up between visits. Larger shares, or houses where the kitchen sees heavy cooking, tend to do better with a weekly visit. Both plans cost £17 per hour.
Do you clean homes in Stamford Hill and Woodberry Down?
Yes. We cover the north of the borough, including Stamford Hill, Woodberry Down and the streets around Clissold Park, as well as N1 in the south, where we work most. Large family houses and new-build flats are both booked by the hour, so tell us which rooms you want covered on each visit.
How do I report a problem after a regular clean?
Get in touch within 24 hours, say what was missed and where, such as the bath taps or the kitchen floor, and we come back to fix it. The routine then improves from the next visit onwards, because the gap is on record and gets checked each time.
Can the cleaner work around me if I work from home?
Yes. Tell us which room you work in and when your calls usually are. The cleaner can start elsewhere and leave your desk area until you are free, and noisy jobs such as vacuuming can be timed around meetings. In a small flat, this is worth agreeing at the start.
Can I book a one-off clean before starting regular visits?
Yes. A one-off clean costs £19 per hour, the same rate as monthly visits. If the home needs more than a tidy-up, a deep clean from £23 per hour with a 3 hour minimum may suit it better, and weekly or fortnightly visits at £17 per hour can follow.
